Introduction¶
Roles with access
Only administrators have access to this feature.
This section shows the status of all desktops created by users within one or more categories.
Two sections can be distinguished:
-
Desktop status: Where we can see all the desktops from all categories on the platform.
-
Desktop status by category: This section shows the desktops created by category, distributed according to their status: Started (running), Stopped (detained) and Failed (failed). Where different actions can be carried out.
Desktop status¶
This section shows the global status of all the desktops on the platform. Each state is represented by a panel that includes the name of the state, the total number of desktops in that condition, and a graph that reflects its temporal evolution.
This graph can be modified by going to the Refresh interval dropdown:
Where you can select how often the graph will update.
Next to this dropdown, some important data is shown, such as the total number of desktops on the platform and the query time.
The query time is the response time it takes the platform between actions, such as starting and stopping desktops, creating them, deleting them, etc.
When monitoring the platform status
If the platform is well optimized and not under heavy load, this value should be below 0.5 seconds.
If this value exceeds for an extended period of time, measures should be taken to either reduce the platform's consumption or increase its capacity.
Actions¶
By clicking on the panels for each status, we can see the possible actions that can be performed with the number of desktops in that specific state.
At the same time, we will have the option to view in more detail which desktops are in that state. By clicking the option shown below
, a list like the following will be displayed:
Here we can see the desktop ID (each desktop has its own unique ID that distinguishes it from the rest), the name of the desktop, the individual actions that can be performed on it, and the date of the last access or startup.
The different states we can find in this section are the following:
Desktop status by category¶
In this second section, just below the previous one, we have information about the desktops automatically filtered by category.
In this section you can see three possible states of the desktops:
- Started: Desktops that are currently running or powered on.
- Stopped: Desktops that are stopped or powered off.
- Failed: Desktops that have encountered errors during startup or execution.
Each one has the same actions as in the section above, but with the difference that these actions apply only to the desktops of a specific state and category.
