Config

Roles with access

Only administrators have access to this feature.

To access this section, click the button, located in the Usage dropdown menu:

From this section you can configure the information that will be displayed in the Usage section.

This section includes five subsections:

  • Usage config: Defines the actions that are applied in the Usage section.
  • Credits: Establishes limits relative to consumption per category, according to expected consumption.
  • Limits: Allows defining relative consumption limits.
  • Parameters: Specifies the parameters used to calculate usage.
  • Parameter grouping: Allows grouping different parameters.

Usage config

This subsection allows applying actions on the information displayed in Usage.

  • Consolidate Desktops: When pressing this button, the total usage of desktops is recalculated.
  • Consolidate Users: When pressing this button, the total usage of users is recalculated.
  • Consolidate Storage: When pressing this button, the total usage of the storage section is recalculated.
  • Consolidate Media: When pressing this button, the total usage of the media section is recalculated.
  • Delete all consumption data: When pressing this button, all previous calculations are deleted.

Credits

This section shows a table classified by category, where each category is broken down according to the type of item to calculate.

The table fields are:

  • Consumer name: Name of the consumer (usually, the category name).
  • Description: Description of the category.
  • Consumer type: Type of consumer, usually category.
  • Item type: Type of item being calculated (desktops, users, media, storage...).
  • Grouping: Group assigned for calculation purposes.
  • Start date: Start date of the limit.
  • End date: End date of the limit.
  • Limits: Minimum and maximum relative limits according to the group:
    • Soft limit: Relative lower limit.
    • Hard limit: Relative upper limit.
    • Expected min: Expected minimum consumption.
    • Expected max: Expected maximum consumption.
  • Action: Available actions:

    • Edit values: When pressing the button, you can edit the values applied to the credit.

    • Delete: When pressing the button, the selected credit is deleted.

By clicking the icon, you can add a new credit. The following form opens:

  • Limit: Value of the limit to be applied.
  • Grouping: Group assigned for calculation.
  • Consumer: Type of consumer (usually category).
  • Category: Categories from which information will be obtained.
  • Interval: Time interval used to generate the graphs. If an end date needs to be specified, it can be added by clicking .

Limits

This section shows a list of configured limits.

The table fields are:

  • Name: Name of the limit.
  • Description: Description of the limit.
  • Limits: Minimum and maximum relative limits:
    • Soft limit
    • Hard limit
    • Expected min
    • Expected max
  • Action: Available actions:

    • Edit values: When pressing the button, you can edit the limit values.

    • Delete: When pressing the button, the selected limit is deleted.

By clicking the icon, you can add a new limit. The following form is shown:


Parameters

This section shows a list of available parameters to be added to the graphs. Some come integrated by default and can be grouped in Parameter Grouping.

The table fields are:

  • ID: Parameter identifier.
  • Source: Parameter type (System or Custom).
  • Item type: Associated item type.
  • Description: Parameter description.
  • Formula: Indicates if a formula is used to generate the value.

    Tip

    You can define a mathematical operation between parameters to build a new one.

  • Units: Unit of measurement.

  • Action: Available actions:

    • Edit values: When pressing the button, you can edit the parameter values.

    • Delete: When pressing the button, the selected parameter is deleted.

By clicking the icon, you can add a new parameter. The form that appears is as follows:


Parameter Grouping

This section shows parameter groupings that can be used when defining credits and generating graphs in the Usage section.

The table fields are:

  • Name: Name of the grouping.
  • Item type: Associated item type.
  • Description: Description of the grouping.
  • Parameters: List of included parameters.
  • Action: Available actions:

    • Edit values: When pressing the button, you can edit the grouping values.

    • Delete: When pressing the button, the grouping is deleted.

By clicking the icon, you can create a new grouping. The following form appears:
