RDP Activation in Ubuntu

Sharing - Login

Starting from Ubuntu version 22, the RDP service is already integrated. To activate it, go to Settings - Sharing - Remote Desktop and in Authentication establish this login:

It must match the desktop credentials (we can set them by editing the desktop or when creating a new one):

Fix the key between Ubuntu restarts

The key we set for RDP access within Ubuntu is regenerated on each restart if Ubuntu cannot unlock the user's "Keyring". To fix this, you need to reset the keyring key to a blank key.

Click Unlock and it will ask for the user's current key (default for user isard is pirineus).

Then right-click on Login and a dropdown will appear where you click on Change Password to change it:

And without typing anything, accept a new blank key.

This will allow Ubuntu to unlock the keyring when starting the user session and, therefore, also have access to the current RDP key, and will not be forced to regenerate a new one.
