Recycle bin

When a desktop, a template or a deployment is deleted, it can be chosen whether it should not disappear permanently. Instead of being permanently deleted, the item in question will be moved to the recycle bin, where it can be recovered or permanently deleted, either manually or automatically. This feature aims to provide an additional layer of protection to prevent the accidental deletion of important items.

Deleting items

Very important

  • Once the maximum time in the bin is reached the item will be automatically and permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
  • The storage of items in the recycle bin will be counted towards the user’s quota until they are permanently deleted.

Deleting a desktop

By default, when a desktop is deleted it will be permanently deleted, but the user will be offered the possibility to send the desktop to the recycle bin via a checkbox. Additionally, the user will be informed of the maximum time the desktop can stay in the recycle bin.

Deleting a template

When a template is deleted, it will go directly to the recycle bin, keep in mind that all its dependencies will also be sent:

Non-reversible action

When a template is permanently deleted all entries dependent on other users will also be deleted. That is, if a user sends a desktop derived from a template to the recycle bin and the template is then permanently deleted, the user's derived desktop will be automatically and permanently deleted.

Deleting a deployment

By default, when a deployment is deleted it will be permanently deleted, but the user will be offered the possibility to send the deployment to the recycle bin. Additionally, the user will be informed of the maximum time the deployment can stay in the recycle bin.

Non-reversible actions

  • When a specific desktop of a deployment is deleted, it will be permanently and immediately deleted.
  • When modifying the users of a deployment all desktops of users no longer part of the deployment will be permanently and immediately deleted.
